“Hope For Children” UNCRC Policy Centre (HFC) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the famous actor and comedian Loris Loizides and the well-known journalist Elita Michaelides for its campaign Beat Bullying.

In Elita.com.cy, Loris stated that he “has not experienced bullying as a child, but he has witnessed other classmates to experience it, and emphasized that he decided to participate in this campaign since he wants to offer in any way possible towards the cause of combating bullying”. In turn, Elita explained her decision to support the campaign by saying that “we ought to have social conscience and everyone should offer whatever they can. I believe that this issue deserves strong campaigning and understanding as it relates to children on whom the future depends”. Ms. Michaelides continued saying that both she and her daughter have experienced bullying and because of this reason she feels a double duty to respond to this social phenomenon.
“Hope For Children” has proceeded with signing a Memorandum of Understanding with both Elita and Loris in order to clarify their in-between relationship and obligations.
The Director General of the organization “Hope For Children”, Mr. Joseph Varughese has stated: “The decision of Mr. Loris Loizides and Ms. Elita Michailidou is another important step in the recognition and development of methods of dealing with such phenomena” and he welcomed the “willingness of the comic and journalistic scene in Cyprus to take a stand against bullying and its consequences”.
